M2F Breast Augmentation

M2F Breast Augmentation is a very popular option for transgender women who want to achieve larger and fuller breasts. Hormone therapy can produce a small amount of breast tissue, but quite often remain small. The only way to make breasts larger is with implants.

Our Surgeon Mr Vahidi will sit with you and together you will decide which implant best represents your desired size, and the implant that will best suit your body, Mr Vahidi will take into account how much breast tissue you currently have as well as your body shape, chest diameter, height and nipple positioning. We offer B-Lite implants which are a 1/3 lighter than traditional implants, this greatly improves comfort and posture in the long term. 

Our M2F Breast augmentation methods consist of either one or two stages. If there is enough elasticity in the skin then we will be able to put the implant in straight away. If you have low amounts of elasticity then a two-stage procedure may have to be completed.

A two-stage breast augmentation consists of having a tissue expander placed into the breast, this is then expanded weekly over the course of  3 months. Following this, the expander will be replaced with an implant. Mr Vahidi will discuss with you the option that would best suit you. 

Sometimes it may be advised to include a fat transfer procedure to be done at the same time as the breast augmentation, this helps to create a more natural result.

Risks 

There are risks with breast implants and including infection, capsular contracture is where fibrous scar tissue forms around an implant, forming a tissue capsule. Our bodies naturally form a protective wrapper around anything it detects as a foreign object. Anaplastic large cell lymphoma occurs in approximately 1 in 450 people with textured breast implants, rupture is also a risk. 

Pain, Bruising and small amounts of bleeding sometimes can occur. You will be given pain management medication which should make you feel comfortable in the first week. 

You will stay overnight in the hospital and be reviewed the morning after your surgery. You will then be reviewed again at 7 and 14 days after, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 1 year post-operatively. You will have access to our 24/7 emergency phone should you have any worries during your recovery.
